I have spent a fair amount of time fishing out of a friend's 1996 690 and it is an awesome boat! The 690 is a bit more choppy riding than a 619 or more comperable 1860.An overall length of 18’9″ with 90″ beam making it 6″ shorter & narrower than the 619vs.With a max hp of 175 you should get low to mid 50’s to higher 50’s depending on prop choice,with or without a jackplate & total weight of persons motors & gear.I run a 1998 690 & it is still a very comfortable single counsel rig,which I preferred at the time for being able to move about the boat more freely also leaving more space to lay out my longer trolling rods without breaking them down & filling more rod locker space, than a dual counsel model the 692.With that said it also leaves guests more open to the environments.My rod locker generally has 14-18 rods depending on types of fishing I might be doing & 6-8 most used rods laying either side of me on the bow compartments for ease of use.The downside would be possibly lack of storage as the whole front underdeck is fuel cell,42 gal.This also makes for possibly coming out of the hole a bit longer than the 619 or 1860 as I beleive the fuel cell is more centered under floor on those models comperably equipped.The upside would be you should be able to get a nice used rig for around 1/3 to 1/2 the price of a newer model.Depending on options & physical appearance.I am very happy overall with my rig,but now possibly considering purchasing a dual counsel model over openness for more guest comfort. This is a serious Walleye boat, but it can be used for any type of fishing.

Anybody have good/bad news about the Ranger Fisherman series in the 90s?

I've owned the boat for almost 4 years, and I'm very happy overall with the boat. My wife loves the glove compartment and the ability to hide from wave-splash. Incredible Trout Fishing / We Fed A Family Of Tourists From Texas, Minnkota warerfowl addition trolling motor. The Opti problems were with the early 200s and 225s, I have a 95 690 I had a 2004 2025 sold that and ran my buddies 620 for one year. If you can’t find much advice here, I’d check walleye central.
